Day 1

Nice bacon butty to start the day, bus arrived on time, held up at Sunderland as the bus station was jam packed with Sunderland fans going to Wembley, one more stop then on our way. 3 hours later we arrived in Kendal, driver was very helpful with my wheeler and helping me on and off the bus, wandered round Kendal which was a bit too long, arrived at hotel but room wasn’t suitable as it had stairs, very helpful manager found another room on same floor as Lesley, dinner was lovely and the waiters were quick and helpful, then chilled out in the lounge with other residents, it was wet and windy so watched the soaps and chatted with Lesley in her room, rooms were clean and had lovely views of lake Windermere, thanks to Amanda for finding this.

Day 2

Comfortable night sleep then breakfast which was served by Lesley which was very tasty, taxi into Bowness to visit Beatrix Potter world, well worth the trip, food very nice and good value for money, slow walk to the lake as it was very steep not recommended for anyone using a wheelchair, fantastic cruise around the lake, would really recommend doing this, back to the hotel for another beautiful 3 course meal, finished off in the lounge for a couple of relaxing drinks and chat with friends Joanne and her mam, chill out and blog writing before bed.

Day 3

Another good nights sleep, proper Lake District weather, rained rained rained, 4 hours in beautiful Bowness, watching the boats cruising lake Windermere, we took shelter in the café avoiding the rain, ventured to a market near to the ferry to treat myself to a nice handbag, lunch in the café, thought 4 hours would drag but it was time to get the coach home before we knew it, I couldn’t fault the hotel and staff and would recommend this anytime to anyone, this has been a calm and peaceful holiday not like Blackpool where you’re rushed and chaotic, having someone with me has been great I couldn’t have managed by myself because of my mobility, I would like Amanda to help me write a letter to tell hotel staff how good they were, thank you Amanda was a good find
